Back in Motion: My Accountability Journey

Picture of me 30 pounds lighter…You’re probably wondering, how did I get here?
Video of me at my current weight…Over the past year, life has looked a little different. I started a new job that’s much more sedentary than my old one at the dealership. It’s been exciting, with opportunities to network, grow my skills, and attend amazing conferences and events. But those events come with buffets, open bars, and ribbon cuttings at the newest restaurants filled with incredible food before the public ever gets a taste.
The truth is, I’ve lost this weight before, and I know I can do it again. The difference this time is that I want us to do it together.
Because life happens. And Newton’s law reminds us: An object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion unless compelled to change by an external force. That’s not just physics. It’s life.
When we stop moving, stop prioritizing our health, and stop showing up for ourselves, inertia takes over. Rest becomes the default, and it gets harder to break free. We start to feel stuck, like a hamster on a wheel, burning energy but not really getting anywhere.
But here’s the other side. Once you get into motion, whether it’s a daily walk, prepping one healthy meal, or showing up for the gym, it creates its own momentum. Progress compounds. Movement builds on itself. What once felt impossible starts to feel natural.
The external force that changes our state can be anything. A life event. A wake-up call. Or simply the choice to say, today, I move.
And this time, we don’t have to do it alone. What started as a group chat with close friends has become something I know many others could benefit from. So let’s team up. Work out with me. Cook with me. Stay consistent with me. I’ll be sharing tips, recipes, and resources along the way.
We don’t have to do this alone. Let’s do it together.
